The Supreme Court has agreed to set a fast track for theconstitutional challenge of Gov. Bob Wise's proposal to erase debtsin three state pension plans with $3.9 billion in bonds.
In a 4-1 ruling, the court granted Wise's petition requiring anappeal in the case to be filed by April 23, with a response from Wisedue by May 3.
Justice Robin Davis voted against an expedited schedule for thecase.
State Treasurer John Perdue and state Auditor Glen Gainer wouldfile the appeal, after Kanawha Circuit Judge Irene Berger dismissedtheir legal challenge last month.
